Srinagar :Police on Friday claimed to have arrested c a suspect who was earlier seen in a video picking up a pistol of the injured cop from the scene of crime.

He has been identified as Zubair Qayoom a resident of Saderabal.

In a statement issued here police said that the suspect has been taken into custody and the said pistol has been recovered from his possession besides the clothes that he was wearing at that time were also recovered on his disclosure.

The statement added that the complicity of the said individual in the instant crime is being investigated.

Meanwhile an FIR has been launched and a team has been constituted to investigate the killing of senior journalist and Editor Shujaat Bukhari. The team will be headed by DIG.
