Srinagar: An inmate, who was under custody of police station Sopore, has escaped on Tuesday.

Police officials identified the inmate as Abdul Majeed Mir, 24, a resident of Tujjer Shareef area of Sopore town.

He was under police after he was booked under  FIR number 50 U/S 13 ULA in Bomai police station.

Meanwhile, police has launched searches to nab the culprit.

Police sources said that Mir was arrested in 2016 and is an undertrial in a militancy related case.
