‘Won’t allow meet with Rajnath Singh, if you speak about right to self determination’

Srinagar: In a startling revelation, legislator from Langate, Engineer Rashid said that his Awami Itehad Party (AIP) boycotted the meeting with home minister Rajnath Singh after they were told by the government that they should not speak about Right to Self Determination with him.

“After being asked not to speak for Right to self determination,AIP delegation boycotted meet with Home Mister Rajnath Singh at kupwara today.Dont know what  was the fun to visit if you aren’t ready to listen harsh  truth,’ he tweeted from his handle.

Home minister has arrived to Jammu and Kashmir for a two day visit on July 07.

During his visit, Rajnath reviewed the situation in Kashmir by holding a high level security meet. He is yet to decide whether to extend the halt on security operations against the militants which were stopped with the beginning of the month of Ramzaan.

Rajnath also met delegations of political parties and visited remote Kupwara district, close to the Line of Control, to take stock of the developmental projects.

Meanwhile, Engineer Rashid also took a pot shot at ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) led by Cheif minister Mehbooba Mufti and vice president of opposition National Conference, Omar Abdullah for failing to jointly address the burning issues.

“Strange Umar Abdullah & Mhbooba can have Iftar together, but can’t reach a consensus how to deal with burning issues & persuade New Dehli for meaning full dialogue,” he wrote in another tweet.
