Clashes broke out between government forces and youths in south Kashmir’s Shopian on Monday soon after a grenade was tossed on police party.

Witnesses said that scores of youth pelted rocks on forces personnel deployed near the local Jamia Masjid who retaliated with tear smoke shelling.

The clashes later spread upto Batpora chowk of the town with clashes turning violent.

Earlier ten persons were injured in a grenade attack in the town among them was SHO, a cop and a young girl.
