Protests broke out at Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) Awantipora on Monday against the detention of an B.Tech student by government forces.

The protesting students demanded immediate release of the student, Tasaduk Rashid Bhat, who was allegedly detained by the forces from his home and has been detained at police station Awantipora..

The students raised slogans “Tasaduk ko Rihaa karo”.

Earlier in the morning, the Special Operations Group (SOG) had stopped a bus of this University at Pampore and carried out frisking.
