The Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday rebuts the threats to the man who provided land for Asifa burial.

police spokesperson said “It has been reported in some sections of media  in Kashmir Valley that one Mohd Rafiq belonging to Bakarwal community  was allegedly  threatened by few miscreants for providing land for the burial of rape and murder victim.

It is hereby clarified that on 12-05-2018 based on complaint Police Station Hiranagar has carried out preliminary verification into the allegations. It was found in verification that the contents of complaint are not based on facts. The reports regarding this are thus refuted.

Miscreants with vested interests are spreading rumours to vitiate peaceful atmosphere in the area for their ulterior motives. People are requested not to pay any heed to rumours.
