A 20-year old youth was killed in cross-border firing along Line of Control (LoC) in Gulpur area of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday..

The youth has been identified as Mohammad Ikhlaq (22) son of  Mohammad Sadiq resident of Kalisan Baghal Dhara. “He has received serious injuries and died on the spot,” officials said.

Police officials said that the Pakistani Army started firing on Indian Army posts at Baghal Dhara, in retiliation, the Indian army fired back.

Due to firing from across the border, one youth sustained injuuries and died later.

He said that a case has been registered under the relevant sections of law and further investigations have been initiated.
