The fierce gun battle which broke out between the militants and the government forces has ended with the killing of three militants and injuring of a CRPF paramilitary officer.

A civilian was also killed after a CRPF vehicle  mowed him down during the protests, triggered soon after the encounter started.

The official sources said all the three militants allegedly belonged to Pakistan.

Search operations is on to ascertain the identity of the militants.

Meanwhile, protests broke out between the youth and the government forces around the encounter site.

Till the last reports came in, the pitched stone battles between the forces and the troops continued.

Around 10 persons including few photojournalists were injured during the protests.
