High intensity rain in plains, snow in upper reaches of J&K from April 18-20: MeT


Srinagar, April 15: The meteorological department Kashmir on Saturday said that there will be snowfall in the upper reaches of Kashmir, while the plains will experience high-intensity rainfall from April 18-20.

The MeT official said that from April 18-20, the weather is expected to be generally cloudy with intermittent light to moderate rain. “Light snow is also predicted over higher reaches,” he said.

“Thunderstorms and lightning are also expected at fairly widespread places in the Kashmir division and a few places in the Jammu division,” the official said.

From April 21 onwards, the weather is likely to remain generally cloudy with intermittent light rain, thunderstorms, and lightning. These conditions are expected at a few places in the region.

On 22 April, he said that the weather is expected to be mainly dry during this period. “There may be little or no precipitation, and the skies may be mostly clear,” he said. kns
