Jammu, Nov 17: A man was assaulted to death while two others were critically injured in Narayana village of Akhnoor sub division of Jammu district on Thursday.

Officials said three persons were allegedly attacked and injured with a sharp-edged weapon by an accused identified as Ashok Kumar at Narayana village of Khour in Akhnoor subdivision.

All the three victims were rushed to a local hospital where one of the injured namely Babu Ram, son of Sita Ram succumbed to his injuries, they said.

The other two victims are identified as Sita Devi and Vaneet Kumar, who both are undergoing treatment at GMC Jammu.

Meanwhile, Police said that the accused Ashok Kumar has been arrested and the weapon of offense has also been recovered from the spot.

Police said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation is going on.
