Maintain highest level of alertness for smooth Amarnath Yatra: DGP to officers

 

Sumbal, Jul 16: Pilgrimage to holy Amarnath cave shrine in Kashmir is going on smoothly while all arrangements have been put in place for a secure and smooth yatra, Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh said on Saturday.

“I visited the holy cave, Manigam and Shadipora camp arrangements are well made by police, CAPF and civil administration at these places,” he told media persons here at Yatra Transit Camp Shadipora.

About the recent cloudburst that left 15 people dead, he said that the security grid played an important role as they evacuated the injured people immediately. “I appreciate the security forces for their excellent response during the rescue operation,” he said.

DGP said that considering inclement weather, yatra is being regulated. “In case of inclement weather, the Yatra can be stopped temporarily, ” he added.

He also directed all the officers to maintain highest level of alertness and ensure proper access control and all necessary facilities to Yatris, besides ensuring of all possible help and assistance to them.kno
