Amarnath Yatra: ADG BSF western Command visits Jammu Borders

Jammu, Jun 23 : Additional Director General, (Western Command) Border Security Force (BSF) P V Ramasastry visited Jammu border in the wake of intelligence input received that “terrorists may try to disturb Amarnath Yatra, which commence from June 30”.

The ADG chaired a security review meeting at Frontier Headquarter BSF Paloura Camp , where he was brief by Inspector General (Jammu Frontier) DK Boora.

As per official spokesperson, to the ADG was detailed about general security scenario in Area of Responsibility (AOR) and vigil maintained by the troops.

The ADG Ramasastry also visited border outposts in Samba and Kathua districts where he took stock of the security situation and operational preparedness of field formations.

Spokesperson further added that a special emphasis was given on the cross border tunnel and drone threats posed by Pakistan drones abetting smuggling of weapons and narcotics from across the border to Indian Territory.

During the visit, ADG also interacted with Jawans and praised the troops for displaying alertness which shows their devotion and dedication towards performing duties in this challenging scenario 24X7X365.
