Srinagar, Apr 20: A driver was killed in an accident on Wednesday morning on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway when a truck he was driving rolled down into a deep gorge near Khooni Nala.

An official said that at around 5:00 hours today, a truck bearing registration number PB10HL/3434, which was heading towards Srinagar with electric poles, plunged into deep gorge near Khooni Nala, Ramban, resulting in death of a driver identified as Kalvinder Singh, a resident of Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

The cause behind the accident was preliminary ascertained as over-speeding and the resultant loss of control over the vehicle.

A case under FIR no. 44/2022 U/S 279/304-A IPC was registered at Police Station Ramsoo, the official added. kdc
