‘Placed under house arrest,’ says Mehbooba Mufti ahead of her Shopian visit

Srinagar, Apr 12: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti alleged that she was placed under house arrest right before she could visit the the family of Kashmiri Pandit at Harmain area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district who was recently attacked by militants.

“Placed under house arrest today because I wanted to visit the family of the Kashmiri pandit attacked in Shopian. GOI wilfully spreads fake propaganda about Kashmiri mainstream & muslims responsible for pandit exodus & doesn’t want this fake divisive narrative to be exposed,” tweeted Mehbooba.

Doesn’t take a genius to figure out who will benefit politically by deepening mistrust & sowing seeds of division & hatred, she added in her tweet.

On April 4 militants fired upon a Kashmiri pandit, Sonu Kumar Balaji, a resident of Shopian.

Sonu, a medical shop owner, was injured followed which he was shifted to hospital for treatment.
