Four booked under PSA for alleged ‘anti India activities’ in North Kashmir’s Bandipora

Bandipora, Jan 18: Police booked four persons under Public Safety Act (PSA) for alleged ‘anti-India activities’.

Sources said that six persons including 4 militant ‘sympathizers’ were booked by Bandipora Police. The four militant ‘sympathizers’ were booked under PSA.

Two alleged drug peddlers arrested under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act have also been booked under the provisions of the Public Safety Act. Sources said that two drug peddlers arrested earlier under NDPS Act have also been booked under PSA.

Police said the activities of 4 persons were prejudicial in the maintenance of peace and order in the area while 2 persons arrested under provisions of the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act were also booked under PSA as they were actively involved in this illicit trade and responsible for drug menace.

Police said these persons were booked after obtaining orders from the appropriate designated authority.

“These persons were instrumental in disrupting public order, besides some were involved in drug trafficking and were supplying drugs to youth in district Bandipora. Many cases were already registered against these persons in different police stations and were repeated offenders,” police said. KNT
