3 Militants killed; 3 Cops, CRPF Trooper Injured In Srinagar’s Pantha Chowk

Srinagar, December 31: Three militants were killed while three policemen and a CRPF trooper were injured in a gunfight in Gomander Mohalla Panthachowk of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Friday.

A senior police officer said that Police had gone there to pick a suspect. As Police team tried to enter the house, a heavy volume of firing came from inside during which two policemen were injured.

“In the initial exchange of fire, 03 Police personnel & 01 CRPF personnel got injured & were subsequently shifted to hospital,” adding, ” three militants killed.”

Later, in a tweet while quoting IGP Kashmir, the Kashmir Police Zone wrote on its official Twitter handle, “One of the killed militants has been identified as Suhail Ahmad Rather of militant outfit JeM. As revealed during yesterday’s PC, militant Suhail was also involved in Zewan Militant Attack. All militants involved in Zewan attack have been neutralised: IGP Kashmir,”.

Meanwhile JeM outfit lost its 9 men in just 24 hours in three different encounters in Valley.
