Bodies of Two Elderly Siblings Retrieved from Pond in Gundoh Doda

Srinagar: They said that police post Changa – falling under Police Station Gundoh – received information about the disappearance of two shepherds – Abdul Rashid (60) and Abdul Latif (58) sons of Ghulam Mohammad Malik of Thaloran.

The family, the officials said, maintained in the missing report that the two brothers left the Dhok on Tuesday evening to wash their sheep at a nearby pond in Merund Dhar. However they didn’t return back, the officials citing the family said. While looking for the missing persons, the family members came across the clothes near the pond, presuming the duo drowned.

The police were intimated which with the assistance of locals retrieved the bodies from the pond, they further said.

SHO Gundoh Vikram Singh confirming the retrieval of the two bodies from the pond said that they are looking into the matter to ascertain possible cause of the drowning of the persons. gns
