PM’s Development Package for J&K: Rs 33809 Cr utilized on centre, state sector projects

Srinagar, Sep 24: Around Rs 33000 crore have been utilized in Jammu & Kashmir on different projects executed under the Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP).

Details reveal that Rs 33809 crore have been utilized under the state and central projects being executed under the development package in J&K.

Of which Rs 20728 crore have been utilized under central sector projects and Rs 13081 under state sector projects, the documents further state.

The PMDP package was unveiled by the Prime Minister Narendra on November 7, 2015 for reconstruction of infrastructure hit by devastating floods of 2014 and new infrastructure development in the erstwhile state.

Till July this year, around Rs 35464 crore have been released under the package, of which 20944 crore were for centre sector projects and Rs 14520 crore for state sector projects, the documents state.

The total outlay of the projects being executed under the PMDP in J&K UT is Rs 58477 crore- Rs 26971 crore for centre sector projects and Rs 31506 crore for state sector projects. Till July this year, projects worth Rs 55973 crore have been sanctioned. The total financial outlay of 63 PMDP projects is Rs 80068 crore.

Of which 53 projects with an outlay of Rs 58,477 crore are in J&K UT and nine projects with an outlay of Rs 21,441 crore are in Ladakh UT. kno
