Srinagar, Jul 30: After the tourism department on Thursday inaugurated the Trekking Equipment Hire Shop, officials said that there will be special rental relaxations on the equipment for students who are adventure lovers.

An official said that the purpose of the opening of the Trekking Equipment Hire Shop is to encourage the adventure lovers so that they can explore the destinations.

“The renting of equipment is purely for adventure lovers and not for any commercial use. The shop is equipped with the latest equipment and whatever will be the demands will be inducted accordingly,” he said.

Notably, adventure tourism has gained momentum over the years in the valley especially after the Covid-19 pandemic hit the valley in March 2020 along with the other parts of India.

On the inauguration, Commissioner Secretary Tourism Sarmad Hafeez termed Jammu and Kashmir as the best trekking destination for adventure enthusiasts.
