Khag, July 17: Police Saturday defused a live mortar shell in Sitharan area of Khag in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

Station House officer, Police Station Khag, Tawfeeq Malik said that a live mortar shell was spotted by locals who informed police.

He said a Bomb Disposal Squad was called in that diffused the shell.

Last week also a live mortar shell was seen by locals in Khag forest area that was later on destroyed by the Bomb Disposal Squad. knt
