Pattan, July 06: The residents of Hamray locality of Pattan in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday staged a protest against Jal Shakti department for failing to provide potable drinking water to them.

Reports said that the residents blocked national highway in Pattan against the department.

They said that the Jal Shakti department has completely failed to provide portable, and safe water instead was supplying contaminated water to them.

“The department is putting our lives at risk by supplying contaminated water to us.”

Meanwhile, DO Palhallan, Irfan Ahmad reached the spot and assured the protesting residents that the issue will be taken up with the concerned department for immediate redressal. kns
