Kupwara June 08: Kupwara police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler with 2 kilogram heroin in Yariban Taad area of Karnah.

Police spokesman said that During checking the Naka party intercepted a person in a suspicious condition. The party apprehended the said person who disclosed his Identity as Naseer Ahmad Sheikh son of Mohammad Ismail Sheikh resident of Hajitra.

During his personal search 02 Packets of Heroin weighing about 2 Kgs was recovered from his possession.Accordingly legal action has been taken and case FIR No. 61/21 u/s 8/21 NDPS act has been registered in Police Station Karnah against the accused person, and investigation has taken up.The war against these Drug Peddlers will continue and those found involved in these acts will be strictly taken under law.
