Man Injured In ‘Baghdadi Restaurant’ Fire Incident Succumbs

Srinagar, May 17: One among the three persons injured in Baghdadi Restaurant fire incident at Shalteng area in Srinagar outskirts in the first week of the current month succumbed to his injuries.

Pertinently, three civilians were injured after Baghdadi Restaurant caught fire. Fire had broken out in the upper part of the three-storey restaurant. The gas cylinders present in the Restaurant exploded one after another, making it difficult for fire-fighters and locals to douse the fire.

At least three persons had sustained injuries while one of them was wounded due to gas cylinder explosion.

Official sources said that among the trio, succumbed to his injuries. The deceased has been identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Ganie, a resident of Shalteng area.

Over two dozen gas cylinders went off while many more cylinders were taken out and shifted to other places. “How the Restaurant owner was allowed to dump large number of gas cylinders is a million-dollar question, to which locals demand answer,” a local said. knt
