Srinagar, May 2: Former Chief Ministers of J&K Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday congratulated Mamta Banerjee over the lead in West Bengal poll counting. 

In a tweet former chief minister and National Conference vice president, Omar Abdullah wrote, Heartiest congratulations to @MamataOfficial didi & everyone at @AITCofficial for the remarkable victory in West Bengal. The BJP & a thoroughly partisan Election Commission threw everything including the kitchen sink at you & you prevailed. All the best for the next 5 years.

Mehbooba Mufti also took to Twitter and wrote, ” Congratulations to Mamata Banerjee All India Trinamool Congress Derek O Brien on their splendid victory today. Kudos to the people of West Bengal for rejecting disruptive & divisive forces.”

The Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress looks set to retain power in West Bengal with its candidates leading in over 200 of the state”s 292 seats that went to polls, according to the ongoing poll trends.
