Anantnag District Court Complex Closed Upto April 30 on Detection of 5 COVID Cases

Srinagar, Apr 24: Authorities in Anantnag District Court Complex have announced suspension of physical activities at the establishment, up to April 30, after five persons, serving in different capacities, tested positive for COVID.

A notification announcing the closure of Court activities says that two judicial employees besides as many PSOs and a Bar member have been found positive for Covid-19.

As such it has been on the submission of Bar Association, keeping in view the surge in positive cases, decided that all the Judicial Officers posted at District Headquarters shall conduct the hearing of cases through virtual mode upto April 30 (2021).

The designated court officials have been asked to respond to the lawyers and litigants effectively during the Court hours to avoid any inconvenience and each Court asked to monitor the same.

The entry of Learned Members of the Bar and litigants in the District Court Complex, as per the directive, shall remain restricted till April 30, 2021 subject to directions of High Court of J&K.

The attendance of the staff is to be also governed by Order No. 189 of 2021/RG dated April 5, 2021, it further said.

It is pertinent to mention here that District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) in a communiqué has said that in a COVID testing camp organized by Naseer Ahmad Dar (Chairman District Legal Services Authority) for judicial officers, court employees, and other staffers, 91 Covid tests were conducted, ‘during which only two tested positive’.
