Afghanistan: 2 Police Killed, 5 Wounded in Baghlan Clashes

Kabul: At least two policemen were killed and five more were wounded in a Taliban attack in northern Baghlan province on Sunday night, provincial police spokesman Ahmad Jawid Basharat said on Monday, reports Tolonews.

The clashes, reports said started after the Taliban attacked a sugar processing factory in Baghlan-e-Markzai on Sunday night, Basharat said, adding that “the clashes continued into the early hours of Monday morning.”

“The Taliban also suffered casualties from the clashes but there is no exact information yet,” reports said.

The Taliban has not yet commented on the attack, reports said.
