ISK militant arrested in Jammu, 01 pistol along with 8 rounds recovered :Police

Jammu, April 04: Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested a militant of Islamic State of Jammu and Kashmir in Jhajar Kotli area of Jammu district.

Official sources said that the police said that, in a major operation, special operation group (SOG), jammu police arrested one militant of the listed terror outfit, Islamic State of Jammu and Kashmir (ISJK), with one pistol, 8 rounds and cash worth rupees 1 lac 13 thousand, thereby averted militant attack by the said outfit.

He further stated that, On the basis of specific input, SOG Jammu laid a Naka at Jhajjar Kotli.

During checking of vehicles at around 1900 hours, one person tried to flee from the spot and was chased and apprehended from whom huge cash,bone pistol and 8 rounds were recovered concealed in a bag he was carrying.

During enquiry, the accused has been identified as Malik Umaid @Abdullah son of Abdul Rashid Malik resident of Yaripora, Kulgam who had received a delivery of weapon and cash to further carry out militant strike in JK UT.

During initial investigation it has been found that arrested militant was in touch with more operatives of the ISJK module.

Further investigation of the case is in progress, added the official. gns
