Roadside Bomb Blast Leaves Five Civilians dead in Afghanistan

Kabul: Five civilians were killed in a roadside bomb blast in the city of Lashkargah in Helmand province on Friday morning, the provincial governor’s spokesman Omar Zwak said, Tolo news reported. 

Zwak said the incident happened in the Chahar Gul area along the Helmand-Kandahar highway at around 11 am on Friday.

The incident comes as another roadside bomb blast targeted a civilians vehicle in Kushk-e Kohna district in Herat province on Friday morning.

Herat governor’s spokesman Jailani Farhad said that seven women were wounded in the explosion.

No group claimed responsibility for the two incidents.

In another incident, a member of the police special unit was killed in an attack by the Taliban in the city of Pul-e-Khumri, the center of Baghlan province, on Thursday night.

Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack. (Tolo news)
