Srinagar: A shopkeeper was shot dead by unknown gunmen on Thursday evening in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, officials said.

Divulging details the officials said that the slain has been identified as Muhammad Ayoub Ahanger, son of Ghulam Ahmad Ahanger of Tral, saying that he was fired upon by the unknown gunmen, leaving him severely wounded.

Soon after the incident, officials said he was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival. They said the area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers. (KNO)
