Summoning Dr Farooq by ED shows GoI’s nervousness, political vendetta against collective fight: NC, PDP

Srinagar, October 19: National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have termed the  summoning of NC leader Farooq Abdullah by Enforcement Directorate (ED) as Government of India’s  (GOI) nervousness and an act of political vendetta.

PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti said the ED move shows GoIs nervousness towards collective fight of J&K political parties for restoration of Article 370, saying the move won’t in the least blunt our collective resolve to fight for our rights.

“ED’s sudden summon to Farooq sahab displays the extent of GOIs nervousness about mainstream parties in J&K fighting as one unit. Also reeks of political vendetta & won’t in the least blunt our collective resolve to fight for our rights”, Mehbooba Mufti in a tweet said.

Earlier in the day National Conference President and signatory of Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration was summoned by ED to it Srinagar office. The move was condemned by former chief minister Omar Abdullah who termed it “political vendetta”.

Soon after former chief minister Dr Farooq Abdullah was summoned by Enforcement Directorate at its Srinagar offfice, vice president National Conference Omar Abdullah termed the move a “political vendetta”.

Omar while taking to micro-blogging site twitter said;

“The party will be responding to this ED summons shortly. This is nothing less than political vendetta coming days after the formation of the People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration. To set the record straight no raids are being conducted at Dr Sahib’s residence”.

Pertinently all regional mainstream political parties including NC and PDP awoved to continue their fight for restoration of Article 370 and renamed the Gupkar Declaration to Peoples Allianace for Gupkar Declaration.

The meet was conducted two days after the release of former chief minister and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti.
