Time has come that people of J&K should move forward for achieving stars of development: LG Sinha

Srinagar, Sept 11): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha on Friday said that time has come that people of J&K UT should move forward for achieving the stars of development.

He said the J&K remained in ‘scary’ headlines due to which genuine grievances of people were unheard. LG added that the restoration of 4G internet services across J&K is under consideration and present dispensation has taken up the matter “very seriously”.

While addressing a maiden press conference in Raj Bhawan Srinagar, LG said people of Jammu and Kashmir UT should move two-steps ahead for touching new heights of development.

“People of UT should step ahead now for achieving developmental heights, I came to know the J&K had been abandoned on developmental front so far and people’s grievances were unheard”, he said.

In a query, LG said that the restoration of 4G internet services across UT is under consideration and the present dispensation has taken up the matter seriously. He added that people will be informed soon about the future of 4G internet services across UT.

During the presser, he Sinha said that the decision to roll out first ever J&K Integrated Grievance Redressal and Monitoring System was taken in the ‘State’ Administrative Council (SAC) meeting today.

“We came to know, after deliberating with various public delegations and journalists that officers from the administration have not made themselves available for the people, resulting immense hardships for people at grass root level, so we have rolled out J&K IGRMS with an aim to infuse work culture in the administration for betterment of people”, he said.

He said that people at grass root level are suffering and their issues have been unheard so far which vindicates that the clutches of J&K were in wrong hands. He assured the steps taken by present dispensation would ease the problems of people of Jammu and Kashmir which will pave way for strengthening real democracy at grass root level.

LG said that the facility will not be limited to few districts but it will be extended across the UT as well.

“There will be minute by minute status update of the grievances and if any negligence will be found by any official, the note of that would be taken sternly”, LG said.

He said in recent SAC meeting, we took few key decisions for the betterment of people. “According to the decision taken in SAC was that district Superintendents of Police and Deputy Commissioners will remain present for people in their offices from 10:30 am to 11:30 am five days a week from Monday, similarly Divisional Commissioners and IGPs of J&K have also been directed accordingly”, he said.

Lieutenant Governor Sinha, at the occasion, announced the launch of Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance cover of rupees 5 lac for every single resident of the J&K UT. He said that the cover will be for the people suffering from fatal diseases and others as well. (KNS)
