J&K reports 1592 fresh covid-19 cases, tally rises to 49134

Srinagar, Sept 10: Jammu and Kashmir reported 1592 more covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, taking the overall tally to 49134, officials said on Thursday.

This is for the eighth day in running that the J&K reported cases in excess of one thousand.

With 112 travelers among them, 770 cases were reported from Jammu Division and 822 from Kashmir Valley, officials said.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 14,074 including 6,775 from Kashmir division and 7,299 from Jammu division. With 344 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 34,215 which is 69.57 percent of the total cases which was over 78 percent few day before.

Notably, first time since covid-19 outbreak, active cases have reached over 14,000 in J&K.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 218 from Srinagar, 75 from Baramulla, 68 from Pulwama, 190 from Budgam, 49 from Anantnag, 56 from Bandipora, 85 from Kupwara, 15 from Kulgam, 02 from Shopian and 64 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 770 from Jammu division include  421 from Jammu, 48 from Rajouri, 47 from Kuthua, 28 from Udhampur, 35 from Samba, 08 from Ramban, 31 from Doda, 78 from Poonch, 28 from Reasi and 46 from Kishtiwar,” officials disclosed.

As per officials figures, 10,980 positive cases including 246 deaths and 9,097 recoveries are from Srinagar, 3,274 including 110 deaths and 2,410 recoveries are from Baramulla, 3,035 including 2,499 recoveries and 60 deaths are from Pulwama, 3,278 including 2,214’recoveries and 68 deaths are from Budgam, 2,762 including 53 deaths and 2,032 recoveries are from Anantnag, 2,558 including 1,858 recoveries and 27 deaths are from Bandipora, 2,609 cases including 1,720 and 56 deaths are from Kupwara, 2,041 including 1,892 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Kulgam, 1,797 including 1,663 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Shopian and 1,933 including 1,393 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Ganderbal.

In Jammu division, 7,282 including 2,424 recoveries and 75 deaths are from Jammu district, 1,217 including 827 recoveries and 14 deaths are from Rajouri, 1,205 including 835 recoveries and 11 deaths are from Kuthua, 1,194 including 762 recoveries and 04 deaths are from Udhampur, 935 including 605 recoveries and 07 deaths are from Samba, 736 including 652 recoveries and 01 death are from Ramban, 639 including 387 recoveries and 09 deaths are from Doda, 679 including 388 recoveries and 06 deaths are from Poonch, 535 including 346 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Reasi and 445 including 211 recoveries and 01 death are from Kishtwar.

As per the daily information bulletin, 505,236 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 44,022 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 14,074 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 394,169 persons have completed surveillance period and 52,126 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 1,152,563 samples are available.

Out of 1,152,563 the number of samples tested negative stands at 1,103,429 while 49,134 have tested positive, among them 14,074 are active and 34,215 persons have recovered
