Cabinet approves Hindi ,Kashmiri, Dogri, and English other than Urdu as official languages of J&K

Srinagar, September 2: The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved Kashmiri, Dogri, Hindi and English other than Urdu among officials languages of J&K.

Union Cabinet which met today approved the introduction of Parliament the Jammu and Kashmir Official Languages Bill 2020, said Union Minister Prakash Javdekar.

He said, in the meeting, five languages including Urdu, Kashmiri, Dogri, Hindi and English were approved as official languages of J&K.

“Urdu, Kashmiri, Dogri, Hindi and English to be official languages in Jammu and Kashmir under the new Bill approved by the Cabinet, said Javdekar adding the decision was taken on public demand.

Javdekar said that the Union Cabinet has also approved Mission Karmayogi for bringing post-recruitment reforms in the Government. (KNS)
