11 more Covid fatalities in a day, toll reaches to 267 in J&K

Srinagar: The deadly virus Tuesday claimed 11 more lives in Jammu and Kashmir taking the total number of people who died of the novel pandemic to 267.

Officials said that eleven patients who died due to virus include a 90-year-old man from Pattan area of Baramulla, a 70-year-old woman from Lal Bazar, Srinagar, a 50-year-old man from Mirbazar, Kulgam, an elderly patient from Parraypora Srinagar, a 60-year-old woman from Budgam, a 54-year-old man from Fateh Kadal Srinagar, a 64-year-old woman from Dangerpora Srinagar, a 65-year-old male from Sangrama Baramull, an 85-year-old male from Sopore, a 74-year old male from Rawalpora Srinagar and an-85 year old male from Papchan Bandipora

An official said that a 90-year-old man from Pattan, Baramulla who was admitted on July 19 and died at CD hospital on Tuesday. He said the patient was suffering from multiple ailments including hypertension, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.

Officials from SKIMS said that a 70-year-woman from Lal Bazar who was admitted on July 18 and a 50-year-old man from Mirbazar Kulgam who was admitted on July 19 died on Tuesday morning.

He said that patient from Fateh Kadal was admitted on July 20 and a woman from Dangerpora, Sopore who was suffering from malignant pleural effusion with bilateral pneumonia and was admitted on 30 June, died at SKIMS on Tuesday afternoon.

An official from SMHS said that a woman from Budgam who was admitted on 17 July with bilateral pneumonia died at SMHS on Tuesday and was tested positive after her death while as patient from from Parray pora who was also suffering from  community acquired pneumonia and admitted on 18 July died at SMHS on Tuesday afternoon.

He said that male from Sangrama who was admitted on 17 July with encephalopathy and bilateral pneumonia died at SMHS at 6 pm.

He further added that an 85-year-old male from Sopore who was admitted on 18 July and was suffering from bilateral pneumonia died at around 3 pm on Tuesday.

An official from SKIMS Bemina said that a 74-year-old man from Rawalpora Srinagar who was tested positive for COVID-19 died at JVC on Tuesday evening.

An official from district hospital Bandipora told KNO that an 85 year old man from Papchan Bandipora as a case of Carcinoma GE junction and IHD was brought unconscious to DH Bandipora where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

He sample was taken and was tested positive after death, he said. With 11 more deaths, the death toll due to COVID-19 in J&K has reached to 267 including 247 from Kashmir division and 20 from Jammu division
