IAS aspirant allegedly beaten by forces’ in Pulwama

Srinagar: A Pulwama family accused government forces of beating one of their members to pulp during a cordon and search operation.

Family said that during a search operation in Wukhu village of Kakapora town of Pulwama, government forces dragged a youth Waseem Ahmed from his house and thrashed him mercilessly. Waseem is a B.Sc graduate and a civil service aspirant.

“We don’t know why he was beaten up. Our pleas and hand folded requests before forces personnel went all in vain as they continued to hit him in front of us,” they said.

Waseem, according to his family, recently made it to the IAS coaching that was started with the help of District Development Commissioner Pulwama.

The family sought intervention of police and civil administration. “Though police assured us probe into the incident, yet we want to know why Waseem was beaten up like an animal. He is bed ridden now and is unable to move,” the family said. KNT
