Floods continue to batter Assam, 66 killed so far

Srinagar, July 16: The flood situation triggered due to torrential monsoon rains continues batter India’s north eastern state of Assam as 66 persons lost their lives during various incidents.  

According to the media reports, around three thousand villages are under flood waters while the major river-Brahmaputra- in the region is flowing over the danger mark.

The reports further said that the floods have affected over 3.5 million people spread across 26 districts of the state, adding, 66 persons have lost their lives while inundation have damaged crops and infrastructure in the rural areas.
