Uri (Baramulla), June 7: India and Pakistan Armies resorted to heavy cross-border shelling in Hajipeer sector of Uri near Line of Control (LoC) on Sunday afternoon.

A police official said that Pakistan Army resorted to the unproved ceasefire violation along the Line of Control (LoC) in Hajipeer sector.

“It led to the strong retaliation from the Indian Army,” he said.

As per official, no loss of life or any damage has been reported so far in the shelling.

However, panic gripped the residents of Hajipeer sector forcing them to stay indoors.

Heavy shelling was going on in the sector when the last reports came in. (CNS)
