Pulwama,: A gunfight broke out between militants and the government forces in Saimoh area of Tral sub division in south Pulwama district on Tuesday. morning.

An official told that a joint team of Police, army’s 42 RR, CRPF and Awantipora Police launched a cordon and search operation in the area on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.

He said tha as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated triggering an encounter.
