Wearing face masks mandatory in Bandipora: Govt

BANDIPORA, MAY 22: Deputy Commissioner, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza on friday issued the order for making wearing of face mask mandatory in all public places in the district from today.

‘In exercise of powers vested in me under section-34 of Disaster Management Act, 2005, I hereby order that wearing of masks in all public places, government offices in district Bandipora shall be made compulsory’, reads the order. ‘Anybody found without wearing masks shall be dealt under law.’ it states.

While emphasizing on the use of masks, DC Bandipora said that for the universalization of use of masks, more than three lac cotton masks have been distributed in the district to ensure that general public use the masks to contain the spread of virus.

He said with the easing of lockdown, footfall is going to increase at public places and it becomes necessary for all to use masks at public places. He further said advisories have been issued from time to time to the public to use masks and those directions are reiterated in the interest of health of general public.
