Srinagar: A 65-year-old woman was crushed to death by a speeding vehicle in Hirri area Batergam in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Friday evening.

Reports reaching GNS said that the woman namely Taja Begum (65) wife of Mohammad Munawar Lone of Hirri Bala was hit by the speeding vehicle near Hirri area today morning.

In the mishap, the elderly woman was immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital Kupwara where she succumbed later.

Confirming it, a police officer told GNS that police has arrested the driver and seized the vehicle immediately.
