Anantnag: Two militants and an army man have been killed in an ongoing encounter between government forces and militants in Marhama village of Bijbehara in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district Tuesday morning. 

A police official said that two militants have been killed while as the operation is underway.

He said that the identity of slain militants is being ascertained.

An army man was also killed while two others were injured during the exchange of fire, he said. 

Earlier on receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area joint team of forces including 3 RR, CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir police’s SOG launched search operation in the area. 

As the searches were intensified the hiding militants fired upon forces triggering a gunfight.

Meanwhile, as precautionary measure internet services have been snapped in Anantnag district.
