Srinagar: A fierce gunfight raged between government forces and joint forces in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district’s Bijbehara Tuesday morning.

Sources said that acting on inputs about the presence of militants, a joint team of forces including 3 RR, CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police’s SOG launched a search operation in the area.

As the search operation was intensified, hiding militants fired upon forces triggering a gunfight, they said.
