Driver dies after Tipper turns turtle in Kangan

Ganderbal: A tipper driver died in a road accident at Ganiwan area of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Monday morning.

A police official said that a Tipper bearing registration number JKOIN-9246 traveling from Gund to Kangan turned turtle on Srinagar-Leh highway near Ganiwan resulting in critical injuries to the driver.

“The driver was rushed to a nearby public health centre where from he was referred to Sub District Hospital Kangan. But the doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead,” he said.

The deceased was identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Ganie son of Sonawullah Ganie, a resident of Frawgund. After completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was sent to his native village for last rites.
