Sopore : Two militants were killed in an encounter with government forces at Banpora, Dangerpora area of sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday.

Reports said that a joint team of army’s 22 RR and SOG had launched a cordon-and-search operation at Banpora dangerpora village of sopore.

As the searches were intensified the forces fired some warning shots towards the suspected spot, the militants hiding inside opened fire leading to a gunfight, an official said.

“Two militants have been killed in the encounter while as search operation is still going on,” the official said

The authrities have already closed all educational institutions including colleges and higher secondary schools in Zangeer area while as internet services are blocked as well.(KNO)
