Baramulla: At least five shops were gutted in a fire incident in wee hours on Thursday in Machikrand market of Uri Market.

Reports said that fire broke in one of the shops and engulfed at least five shops resulting in loses worth lacs of rupees.

They said that fire tenders, police and locals managed to douse the flames but not before six shops were gutted completely.

The cause of fire could not be ascertained immediately.
