Darbar moves to Srinagar; Civil secretariat reopens in summer capital

Srinagar: The civil secretariat and other offices of Jammu and Kashmir government opened in summer capital Srinagar on Monday as part of bi-annual Durbar Move.

Jammu and Kashmir governor Satya Pal Malik received the guard of honour in the lawns of civil secretariat here.

The secretaria, Raj Bhavan and all other offices in the state were shifted from winter capital Jammu to summer capital Srinagar.

Shifting offices to Jammu for six months of winter and six months of summer in Srinagar is a decades ols practice called as Durbar move.
