Parts of Anantnag shut for 3rd consecutive day against militant killings

Srinagar: Shutdown continued for the third consecutive day on Saturday in parts of Anantnag, where two militants of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) were killed by government forces in an encounter at Bijbehara in south Kashmir.

Shops and business establishments remained closed and traffic was off the roads in parts of Anantnag, including Bijbehara. Educational institutions and tuition and coaching centers also remained closed. Work in government offices was affected.

However, the situation elsewhere in the south Kashmir was normal with business and other activities going on normally and traffic plying on all routes.
