Srinagar: A mysterious blast in a private car on Saturday created panic on the Kashmir highway.

A police official said that a Santra car exploded completely destroyed the vehicle.

Although the cause of the explosion could not be ascertained immediately, reports said that the officials present on the spot have recovered urea, an oil bottle, and one LPG cylinder from the vehicle.

“The explosion appears to have been caused by a gas cylinder inside the car but this is based on preliminary examination of the car’s wreckage,” a news gathering agency ANI quoted a police officer as saying. “There was no loss of life…The driver of the car, who was the lone occupant, appears to have escaped,” the officer said.
