Poonch: A government school teacher was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Mendhar area of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.

Reports said that the body of Gulzar Ahmad, son of Khan Muhammad of Mankote was found on the banks of a river in Balnoi area of the district.

The deceased was posted at Government High School Sagra. “His body has been received under mysterious conditions and as such a case under 174 CrPc has been initiated in this regard,” Sub Divisional Police Officer Mendhar Neeraj Padyar said.

Meanwhile, an unidentified female body was recovered from Jhelum river near Dangerpora area of Sumbal in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Thursday.

Reports reaching here said that some locals and sand diggers found a body floating in Jhelum near Dangerpora area in the morning.

The locals immediately informed the police who took the body to Sumbal for identification,” they said. (GNS)
