Srinagar: Several youth have been arrested during pre-dawn raid in Janwara village of Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Locals said that the government forces including the Special Operations Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police, and paramilitary CRPF personnel raided many residential houses in the village and detained several youth during the  intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.

Police sources said that the youths have been detained on stone pelting charges.

Sopore witnessed intense clashes on Saturday as a fierce gunfight in Warpora village. Two militants were killed in the gunfight while several youth were injured in the subsequent clashes.
